5th place, "Maltese Falcon": Thanks to her unrivalled silhouette, the Ken Freivokh/Gerard Dijkstra design can be identified from afar. Joint venture tycoon Tom Perkins († 2016) ventured into one of the most exciting projects in yachting history with the Dyna rig, which had never been realised at the time. In 2009, the Greek businesswoman Elena Ambrosiadou took over "Maltese Falcon". 88.00 metres, year 2006, sail area 2,400 sqm

The current top 5
BOOTE EXCLUSIV, the sister magazine of YACHT, presents the 200 largest sailing yachts in the world every two years. Here is the current top five and which yachts you should have on your list for 2023

For over ten years, the three-masted schooner "Eos" topped the hit list, which is compiled every two years by the megayacht magazine BOOTE EXCLUSIV, with a length of 92.92 metres. With a length of 142.81 metres, the three-masted giant "A" (Sailing Yacht A) built by German Naval Yards in Kiel catapulted to the top position in 2017.

Another newcomer even pushed the "Eos" into third place at the time. With a length of 106 metres, the "Black Pearl" also easily overtook the Bremen-built "Eos". The next update of the list is due in September 2023. It will be exciting to see how the constellation changes and whether there might even be a new number one by then.

Jeff Bezos soon in second place?

A particularly hot candidate is, of course, Jeff Bezos' superyacht "Y721" or "Koru", which at 127 metres in length would take second place. As has become known, it even has via a 75 metre long supplier.

Current list starts from 40 metres

A little further down, among other things the 54-metre "Argo" slup to be found. It is a joint project by Rob Doyle Design and Juan K. Only slightly longer is the "Alea" aluminium slup which, however, has already been completed.
